Is there a cost to attend?

Yes- this year, there is a small fee to cover the cost of food and site rental. It’ll be $10 for Friday and $15 for Saturday. You only have to pay for the time you attend. This fee is in lieu of each person bringing food to share and makes it easier for the event organizer plan meals, snacks, etc. Scroll down to the “How to Pay” section for more details. If finances prevent you from attending, please reach out to Matt Dombrowski. We want everyone to come, regardless of ability to pay.

There is a charge of $55 for the optional skeet shooting event, if you’re interested in that. (See below for more information.)

Do I have to stay the night?

No. You are welcome to come for any part of the weekend. You can also leave and come back later, if your schedule allows.

Where do we sleep?

There is space for 8 people to sleep inside the cabin, on bunk beds. These spots are first-come first-serve, based on sign ups. If all the spots are full, please contact Matt Dombrowski at for additional arrangements.

What should I bring?

Bring anything you’d need to feel comfortable camping: fishing pole, yard games, pellet gun or Air Soft gun (no standard fire arms, please), camp chair, reusable water bottle, etc.

If you plan to stay the night, bring bedding, change of clothes, and basic toiletries.

How primitive is the cabin?

Inside the cabin, there is a half- bathroom (sink and toilet, but no shower) and a small kitchen with a sink and stove/ oven. The cabin is equipped with air conditioning, if the weather gets too hot and you need to cool down. There is electricity/ outlets available, as well.

Tell me more about the skeet shooting outing.

The shooting event will be around 11 Saturday at C4 in Madison. Check out the site for more information.

Prices can range from $7-$55. Contact Matt Dombrowski at if you have interest or additional questions.

  • Please no one under 18. This is a time for adult men to come together, build community, and honestly discuss the things that we struggle with as men.
  • No alcohol is permitted at this event so that we can support our friends in recovery.
  • Lake Metroparks does not allow standard fire arms (pistols, rifles, etc) in their parks. This also includes live ammo. Pellet guns and Air Soft guns are ok.
  • Please leave pets at home.
  • Invite your friends! This is not a Velocity-only event. Everyone is welcome to join.

Registration is open!  Simply fill out the google form on the link below and let us know when you plan to come. There is unlimited capacity during the day, but spots are limited for bunk beds if you plan to stay overnight. If all overnight spots are full, please reach out to Matt Dombrowski at for additional arrangements.
