CHECKLIST

STUDENT DROP OFF & PICK UP SCHEDULE

  • Departing: We are leaving from the Velocity Church parking lot on Friday, October 18th, at 5:00 p.m. Please arrive early so that we can depart on time.
  • Pick Up: Sunday, October 20th, around 11:45 a.m.
    • Parents: We are arriving at this time so that parents who attend Velocity can attend 2nd service and be reunited with their students after the service, right as the parking lot begins to clear out.

  • Stony Glen Camp

BASIC ORDER OF EVENTS

  • Friday: Depart from Velocity, arrive at Stony Glen, unpack, eat, evening service, and hang out.
  • Saturday: Tons of food, fun, and opportunities for spiritual growth.
  • Sunday: Wake up the students, pack the vehicles, eat breakfast, closing thoughts, head home.

IMPORTANT INFO

Guidelines:

  • NO ONE IS PERMITTED TO LEAVE the retreat center without a leader present. Anyone caught doing so will have their parents called to be picked up immediately.
  • NO ONE IS PERMITTED TO LEAVE THEIR CABIN AT NIGHT.

What to Bring:

  • Enough clothes for two days/nights – please don’t overpack.
  • Sleeping bag or twin-sized bedding and a pillow.
  • Toiletries – toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, etc.
  • Towel.
  • Sunscreen (weather permitting).
  • Bug spray.

What not to bring:

  • Firearms (including paintball, air-soft, and BB Guns).
  • Knives.
  • Fireworks.
  • Shaving cream (unless you shave).
  • Tobacco products.
  • Pornography.
  • Drugs or alcohol.
  • Extra money.
  • Clothes with vulgar slogans or drug/alcohol references.

Dress Code:

  • Girls: Be modest in how you dress. If you have any questions, please see Amani.
  • Guys: Bring a belt. We do not want to see your underwear. Keep your pants pulled up.

What is the cost for Fall Retreat?

  • The cost is $100 per person, due by October 13th. For families with siblings, the first child pays full price, and each additional sibling pays $85.
  • We do not want anyone to miss out due to financial reasons. Scholarships (full or partial) are available. Contact Nate Diamond at (216) 562-9232 or nate@velocitycleveland.org.

Where does my student sleep?

  • We will be staying in cabins. They are comfortable enough to keep your kids cool/warm but not so nice that they’ll forget about home. (For bedding information, see the “What to Bring” section above.)

Where do we eat?

  • All meals while at camp are provided by the camp’s kitchen staff. Your student may bring snacks for the car ride or to keep in the cabins for between meals.
  • There is a place on the sign-up form to specify allergies and other food-related needs.

What about my student’s medicines?

  • The group leader(s) will take responsibility for the administration of any medicines to your student(s). Please contact Nate Diamond before the trip to make arrangements at (216) 562-9232 or nate@velocitycleveland.org.

How do I register?

  • Fill out the Google form on the website below. Register ASAP to secure your student’s spot.
  • Pay the $100 cost of camp (Due by October 13th) or contact Nate for a scholarship. Payment can be made using the website – click “pay” below.
