OUR STORY

In 2007, Scott Pugh felt called to leave his position as the lead pastor of High Point Christian Church to start a new church in the South Euclid/Lyndhurst area of Cleveland. Scott and the ministry team worked for 18 months laying the groundwork for an effective launch by serving the community and doing their best to make a difference in the city. We wanted Velocity to be a church that truly reached people who felt far from God and made a huge impact in the city by serving children. Over the course of several months, Scott and the ministry team were able to build a launch team of 14 people who all agreed to help start this new church.

On April 4, 2009, Velocity had their first public worship service. Since 2009, Velocity has grown from a congregation of 14 people to over 500. Velocity has not only grown numerically, we have helped over 200 people get reconnected with God. And in September 2016, we were blessed to be able to start a new campus of Velocity in Mentor, Ohio. We can’t wait to see how God continues his work in Lake County.
