Lead Pastor

Scott is a graduate of Kentucky Christian University and has done mission work in England and Portugal. Before starting Velocity, Scott was a youth minister for 13 years. He spent seven years at a super cool church in Tollesboro, Kentucky. (Yep, Tollesboro, that’s right next to Ribolt and Rectorville.) He spent another six years at High Point Christian Church in Clinton, Ohio.

Scott is married to his wife Vanessa (who is the best softball player ever) and they have two hilarious children. They have a daughter named Madeline who loves to jump rope, swim, and watch iCarly.  They also have a five year old son named Owen who enjoys making people laugh and Batman cartoons.  In his free time Scott likes to train for triathlons, play volleyball, and spend time with Vanessa.

Associate Pastor

As a young lion cub, David was destined to be the king of Pride Rock. Afraid of his responsibilities, David ran away to live with his two crazy friends Timon and Pumba. It was somewhere during this time he decided on becoming a pastor. Determined, he returned to reclaim the throne only to find it occupied by a hot lioness named Jessica. Instead of fighting, they decided to get married- uniting the kingdom once and for all. David and Jessica have one small cub named Caleb Rock. Recently a wild monkey friend of ours painted Caleb’s forehead while lifting him up over a cliff while all our friends sang a song. Somehow this was supposed to represent that he was to be next in line for the throne- a very strange tradition. David likes reading, watching UFC, football, playing video games, and teaching his dog Molly to do the Macarena.

Worship Pastor

Born and raised in Southern California, Michael was your typical beach boy. You would find Mike out on the beach catching a wave or two. You might even find him on the streets cruizin’ on his board. He grew up in a very Christian home, and when he entered High School, Michael found a home being involved in Youth Ministry. He picked up a guitar and found that God gave him a gift to lead worship.

In 2010, Michael was called to move to Ohio where there weren’t any waves to catch. He found the closest thing to the thrill of catching a wave, and that was Velocity Church. In the freezing temperatures in Ohio, and in the seats of Velocity, Michael found the love of his life, Sarah. Michael and Sarah were married in 2012, and life as they know it has just begun.

You can find Michael and Sarah at an Indians-Angels game cheering for the Angels, and Sarah confused on whom to cheer for.

Michael says, “Velocity has been such a pivotal part of my life, and leading people closer to God through worship brings great to joy to my life.”
